Zappturday: On the subject of television
Ross and I spent a considerable amount of time last night lying around reading, rather than lying around watching television. For much of this considerable amount of time, Zapp paced bath and forth from the dining room to the living room, whimpering pitifully.
Confused, we repeatedly let her out, thinking she still had some business to attend to. But, each time she came back in and we settled back into our reading, the whimpering would start again.
“Maybe she’s confused because the television isn’t on,” I suggested.
Ross shrugged, grabbed the remote, and switch the television on. Zapp then curled up in a ball and went to sleep, as if finally able to relax.

Hm, that would be a little worrisome to me. But I think Ted is unnerved if one of us doesn’t have a laptop sprouting out of our knees, so it’s the same thing.
Our dog Kaya knows that it is time to go up to bed when we turn the television off….sad, but true.
Haha. Dogs are pretty attuned (haha, I made a pun not even on purpose!) to that I guess.
My parents’ dog does the same thing. She’s very into her routines. After my parents remodeled their house and started spending their evenings in a different room than they used to, the dog spent months trying to herd them out into the other room before finally accepting the new routine.
