the most ridiculous and wonderful purchase ever
It’s no secret that I have sleeping issues. In a recent effort to help me fall and stay asleep, I bought one of these:
My sleep mask (which happens to be brown and satin-y) forces me to keep my eyes closed and blocks out any light that dares to glow from my alarm clock, the street light outside, or Ross’s computer. On the nights I’ve worn it, I’ve fallen asleep in a matter of minutes, rather than the hour or so it usually takes.
I’m in love.

As the heaviest sleeper in the planet, I haven’t had to get one of these, but they intrigue me. What happens if you need to get up suddenly? Do you remember that you’re wearing it? I picture myself not remembering that I am NOT blind.
Not ridiculous, because I own one too and they are incredible. One of the bad things for me, I’ve found, is if I don’t have to be up at a particular time, it makes me sleep later since I feel like it’s nighttime forever. I guess that’s not such a bad thing, really.
I’m with RA - I would forget I was wearing it, wake up and think I had gone blind!
it bothers me to have something on my face. and i like to be able to see immediately if i need to
It felt kind of strange the first time I wore it, but I got used to it pretty quickly.
The funny things is, I have yet to wake up with the mask still on. Apparently I take it off in the middle of the night, much like how I used to take out my retainer and lose it in the tangles of my sheets when I was a teenager.
