Seriously, stop giving me hints
I might have to start wearing a T-shirt to the doctor saying, “Really, I don’t want to know. Stop hinting at things.”
Flippy McFlipperson and I had our 14 week appointment today. I have gained a grand total of 1 pound! But, I’ve been told I should start “reasonably packing it on” over the next few weeks.
What I love more than my doctor’s way with words is his amazing ability to find that baby’s heartbeat. There’s no scanning or searching - he’s right on the money every time. I, however, do not love it when he says, “I still think girl. And I’m rarely wrong.” To which I respond, “Noooo!!!! Really!!!! No hints!” as I wave my hands frantically.
Hopefully he got the point.
Perhaps the funniest part was at the end of the appointment and he asked if I had any questions.
“Well, my husband has one.”
“Oh, well I told you last time that sex is perfectly safe.”
“No, actually he wanted to know if it was ok for me to have tuna because he scored some for free.”
Oh, Ross.
Anyway, the heart beat was great (glorious, miraculous, wonderful), I go in for some blood work in two weeks for genetic screening, my next appointment is June 11 with another ultrasound a couple weeks later - an ultrasound which we might have to go to with blindfolds on and earplugs in as to not find out anything we don’t want to know.

That sneaky doctor! I love that “can we have sex” is clearly the #1 most common husband question, but that Ross is focused on cheap eats. That sounds about right.
I am sitting here, reading your wonderful stories and my pain medication is kicking in and I feel like I’m going to pass out but I couldn’t stop reading all the fun and exciting news about your life!
I love the part about “reasonably packing it on.”
But I have to know–is tuna safe?
oooh, i am sooo buying pink stuff. score!
tell me more about this “genetic screening”
hope to see you next weekend!
I didn’t find out the sex of my child before I had her. It was SO cool! And they put her in a blue/pink striped blankie after I had her and everyone in the waiting room was like, WHAT IS IT?????? Nothing compares to that really. I’m glad you aren’t finding out what you are having!
