One of the weirdest parts about being this far along is the looks I get from people. As I’m standing in line or walking down the street, people look at me as if I’m going to pop at any moment. That and the weird dreams I have about Oliver Queen. Not *that* kind of weird. We’re usually just hanging out.

The baby is moving a lot lately, but definitely on a very predictable schedule. He/she is calmest in the mid-morning, later afternoon, and (praise the Lord) for most of the night. I feel the most movement around 7am, again around 2pm and 7pm, with an all out dance party from 10:30pm to 11pm.

We’re taking care of some final things before our world explodes this little one gets here. Our wonderful friend Nic who will be taking care of the dogs off and on while we’re in the hospital is coming over this evening to make sure he’s well-versed on their quirks. I hope to get the car seat installed this week. And I’ve unpacked and repacked the hospital bag about 16 times. All in all, I think we’re in good shape. Now all I need is someone to come over and clean my entire house.

I have a doctor’s appointment today because that’s all I do now. Hopefully we will have made some progress in the “dilating” and “getting the mess down” efforts. Really, by the end of the day I feel like he/she is really low (demonstrated by the ridiculous amounts of pressure I feel on my hips and other areas), but by the time I wake up, it’s like he/she has squirmed back up as close to my ribs as possible. Oh well. It will happen when it’s supposed to happen. But seriously. It’s my birthday tomorrow, and all I want is maybe 1/2 a centimeter.

I’m not dilated at all BUT I *am* 50% effaced. I’ll take it.
