Ink watch 2k8: 36 weeks
My weekly email from the American Pregnancy Association said this:
You have reached 36 weeks and your baby could arrive at any time. We hope you enjoy these last several weeks of pregnancy.
OMG!
Picture after the jump…
As you can see, things are getting to be just very, very round. It looks (and feels) like the baby is starting to move down some which seems to decrease heartburn and encourages waddling. In fact I was told at our party last Saturday by a friend that he really enjoys watching me walk around right now because I have to swing my arms so fervently to propel myself across the room.
I have a doctor’s appointment today (I know! Third one this week, what with the specialist appointment and my visit with my regular doctor pleading for him to kill me prescribe antibiotics.) Hopefully I can get through the exam without coughing my brains out – I imagine that would make things take a little longer.
While I know it’s best for the baby to stay in a couple more weeks, I’m definitely starting to get consumed with thoughts of “GET OUT GET OUT PLEASE JUST GET OUT.”

The end is definitely near. If you were me when I was at 36 weeks – you would have the baby on Thursday =)
I was just thinking the same thing! At 36 weeks, I had only 11 more days before labor began…
Yup, my first came at 38 weeks…then my second came on his freaking due date. That was a looooong two weeks. Don’t set yourself up, because no matter when it shows up, you’ll have a brief freakout, then get down to some bidness. The first time, my water broke just as my husband was leaving to take the dog to the dog park. I almost told him, then decided this was the last time the dog was likely to see the park for a while, so I called my mom instead, then him once he’d gotten across the river.
My favorite part of the 36-week mark was saying, “This will be the last water bill for just two people, next one we’ll have started washing diapers,” or “This will be the last mortgage payment before the baby gets here.” It’s a game that takes your mind off the interminable minutes crawling by.
