Genius child

Today I had that dreaded experience that every working parent goes through from time to time.

Your cell phone rings. You glance at the caller ID. “Day care” flashes back at you. Expletives are muttered.

Taking a deep breath, I picked up the phone. And the conversation went a little something like this…

Hello?

Hello, Mrs. Catrow? The is [teacher's name] from [day care], JR’s teacher.

Hey, is everything ok?

Yes, JR is fine, but he did get bitten today.

Oh ok, well what happened?

He and a classmate both wanted the same toy, so his classmate bit him.

I see. Was JR upset?

He cried quite a bit, but we cleaned the area and applied ice. There was no breaking of the skin, but you will notice a mark.

Sounds like it’s been taken care of. Thanks for letting me know.

But then a few minutes later, JR put his hand in the classmate’s mouth and his classmate bit him again.

Mrs. Catrow?

So after my kid got bitten by his classmate, he then purposely put his hand back *into* his classmate’s mouth, only to get bitten again?

Yes, ma’am. We didn’t really understand why he did it either.

Well hopefully he’s learned his lesson.

(Don’t think for a second that I’m not saving the accident report for his baby book.)

  1. These are basically the exact circumstances that created the “Charlie bit my finger – again !” video that now has nearly 230,000,000 million views on YewTewb.

  4. Maybe he just wanted to make sure that’s what bit him? Maybe he thought the toy bit him and not the other kid and was trying to use process of elimination to find out what bit him? Or, he’s just hilarious.
