As promised, here are the ingredients necessary for this week’s menu…

(Click on the image for notes.)

And our menu…

Monday: Garlic and mushroom pasta

Tuesday: Broccoli and pita bread with hummus dip

Wednesday: Garlic and mushroom pasta leftovers

Thursday: Oven-baked chicken fingers

Friday: Baked potatoes

And the grand total….

$35.04

It would have been even less if we hadn’t screwed ourselves by buying the broccoli from Ellwood Thompson ($2.99/lb) instead of Kroger (2 bunches for $6).

And it is my pleasure to present you with your deal of the week!

That, friends, is a giant box of cornflakes available at Kroger for just $0.99. Run, go hurry, before they run out!

  1. Seriously awesome. Except for the mushrooms! I’m totally going to copy your menu. AND, cute kitchen. Way cute!

  2. I don’t like the mushrooms either. Ross cooks them in a separate pan and only adds them to his portion.

  3. If you guys have a food processor then you should make your own hummus. Kate made some this weekend, and it was fabulous.

  5. Wait, didn’t we just have a conversation about how you don’t like mushrooms unless they’re really really small? I am confused.

But I heart the green walls, of course.

  6. Mmm… baked potatoes. AS and I recently made them for the first time in a long time and we were not disappointed! My mom made baked potatoes regularly, so I think they’ve become a comfort food for me.

  7. YUM. I totally could eat a baked potato right now.

If you crush the cornflakes, mix them with a little parmesan cheese & get some eggs ready - they make a mean coating to put on chicken strips. REALLY YUMMY.
