Tah-dah!!!
(Click for notes.)
This week’s menu…
Sunday: Chicken and pasta
Monday: Beef stew
Tuesday: Homemade hummus to be eaten with fancy bread, chicken, and vegetables
Wednesday: Pot luck with friends. We will be making homemade popcorn which we already have.
Thursday: Hot dogs and salad
Friday: Leftover beef stew
The grand total…
$39.49
A bit higher than last week, but still under our $40 budget.
Now for your Deal Of The Week…
Two 1lb. packages of chicken for something $1.93 each. And we’re still alive! Ross mentioned going back and buying “like a hundred more” so you better get over there quick.
And new to Eats of the week! The Budget Buster…
[picture got losts somwheres!]
This is tahina, an integral ingredient in making hummus (and also made of gold, judging from the price.)

Ross’ man-beard is doing nicely!
I don’t know why you hate *tahini* so much.
But you are right, it is made of gold, peanut butter smelling, sticky gold.
you use so little to make hummus, that it will last a long time. So you have to think of the price being divided by all those delicious meals.
You guys are just chefs. That’s all there is to it.
Awesome. Keep these coming. I need ideas!
are you still doing the free range meat only thing?
Mmmm delicious hummus! One of the many things I look forward to making when I no longer have roommates who will gobble it up without asking.
I got some of that chicken, too! But the “all natural” part plus the really cheap part kind of makes me nervous- that’s not usually how stuff works, right?
How shameful is it to admit that we totally stocked up on the chicken? I mean we stocked up in some sick hoarder kind of way. I’ve decided to embrace it.
Tahini can be had much cheaper at most middleastern stores (along with other necessities, like big jugs of delicious olive oil and dirt cheap dried spices). Try the Mediterranean Market at Broad and Meadow).
