Miracles! They happen!
I woke up rested.
I got through the day with minimal yawning.
My lack of fatigue yielded excessive productivity at work.
I’M BACK IN ACTION!

With the onset of The Great Spending Freeze of 2008, Ross and I are determined to stay on (if not under) budget when it comes to food and groceries. We went to the store this afternoon, determined to stay within our budget of $36. That’s all three meals for the two of us for this entire week.
And we did it. For $34.75.
This might trump that whole graduating from college with honors thing.
October 2006: approx. 140lbs.
***
July 2007: approx. 115lbs.
Quite a difference. Especially in that whole chin area.
After much laboring on Friday evening, all day Saturday, all day Sunday, and all day today, the living room is now finished. We also have subfloors down in the hallway as well. Tomorrow and Wednesday the living room will be painted (because the scrungy walls look even scrungier next to the heaven that is my beautiful, beech floors). Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of next week will see the hallway, dining room, and downstairs bathroom completed. I don’t have any pictures yet because we were too busy laying the floors to take pictures of them. But trust me. You know how beautiful your children are? My floors will make your children look like trolls.
I think the weight goal has been reached. I weighed myself at the gym tonight. As of 8:45 this evening (after pretty hefty dinner and much fluid consumption throughout the day) I weighed 124.4 lbs. I’m estimating that if I were to weigh myself in the morning sans clothes, that would probably put me at about 123.5 lbs., which is lower than I was originally shooting for. If my estimate is correct, that would put the grand weight loss total at…..
16.5 lbs!!!!
OMG that’s pretty insane. Seriously, it was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. The first few weeks were so frustrating because my metabolism was still nonexistent thanks to two years of a chemically-produced sedentary existence. But thanks to Gold’s Gym, Sprout, and much encouragement from some very supportive people, my body finally woke up and I started seeing results.
Before I started losing the weight, I didn’t feel like me at all. Now I’m finally comfortable in my body again. Now, I’m just going to focus on maintaining and staying toned. Honestly, all I really want is to maybe have arms as amazing as this lady’s (don’t ask her to flex because she won’t - just trust me on this).
Ross and I often sit and wonder what song we could blare out of our speakers to get back at the damn teenagers who blast their hip hop music at all hours of the night (we also often get our dentures mixed up and gripe about the cost of milk these days). After much deliberation we decided that this song would be the best way to stick it to ‘em (just imagine it blasting at full volume with us playing the air guitar on the porch):
I have to share something with you. Actually, it’s more like the absence of something. Or the impending absence of something. Look:
Here is where one of my bat wings used to be. I was going to show you the other one, but really, it looks the same. Wouldn’t it be *really* unfortunate if it didn’t? Anyway, a success! Huzzah!
