after all, I *am* a Southern lady…
I had an ultrasound today to confirm and follow up on the source of
last weekend’s horrific pain. During the ultrasound, I was told that
I that I have “beautiful” uterus. My ovaries are also “wonderful.”
I promptly wrote the following thank you note (well, email) to my mother:
Dear Mom,
I suppose you’re the one I need to thank.
I was told today that I have a beautiful uterus.
This weekend I apparently had an ovarian cyst that ruptured. An
ultrasound confirmed that today. I’m fine, at work, and apparently
well prepared for the pain of childbirth after experiencing that.
Just wanted to let you know and to thank you for your contribution. I
would have put the image in a frame for you, but they wouldn’t give me
one to take home.
Love ya!
Val
I don’t want anyone to feel left out, so Dad, I thank you, too.

Oh my lord, that happened to me last year, and it suuuuuuuuuucked. Glad you are ok!
I have heard that ovarian cysts are awful. Sorry you had to have one!
Despite you cryptic hinting, I figured it was cyst issue…I’m sorry it had to have a temper tantrum, but I’m glad your uterus is still beautiful. Hubsband and I were – once I stopped smacking his arm, and without knowledge of the other – trying to figure out how I was going to be a surrogate mother for you if it was something more serious.
I didn’t want to declare it a cyst until it was confirmed. You know me, I want all discussions of my nether regions to be founded in pure fact supported by pictorial evidence.
Val,
I’ve never been thanked because of an ovarian cyst before, but you’re welcome … I guess …
Dad
