My name is Valerie, but nobody calls me that. Well, except for my husband, but mostly he calls me Babe. I have no problem being referred to as Babe, as long as he is the one who says it. If you call me Babe, I might cut you.
That was a round about way of telling you that you can call me Val.
I was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia. Some might say I was made here. I love it *almost* as much as my husband does.
I taught 5th grade for 4 years and I was awesome at it. I worked constantly and burnt out at 25.
Now I am a copywriter. I’m pretty good. But, I can come home and function as a human being, so I figure it’s a fair trade off.
My husband and I met in high school. We dated for 15 months and then he dumped my ass. We got back together in October of our freshmen year in college and dated long distance for the remainder of college. It sucked and I’m glad it’s over.
We were married in June 2003. He was 22; I was 21. We are growing up nicely together.
We are expecting our first baby in November. We will try to welcome this child by spending as little of our own money as possible. Send onesies.
We are the type of Christians that you hear about, but never meet. Meaning we love Jesus and all, but still find things like this and this hilarious. We love our church and work tirelessly to keep it going.
I started this blog in September of 2005 in order to jump on the bandwagon that my husband was (and is) driving. It does surprisingly well in our local scene. I started off on Blogger but switched to Wordpress when I got the current url.
My husband and I hope to one day run an Internet empire from the comfort of our bed.
I hate rudeness, fear vampires, and love going to McDonald’s.

Hi! Nice to meet another Christian who has a good sense of humor. My husband once bought a metal lunch box that has the Last Supper painting on it, and also owns a little plastic Jesus action figure that he keeps on his desk.
