a slight addiction
I have great eyelashes. It’s true. Here, look:
I often get asked if they are real. Yes, they are.
But, here’s the thing. I apparently have a tendency to buy mascara. A lot of it. Take a look at what I found in my makeup bag this morning…
Yes, that would 7 tubes of mascara, 2 of which are EXACTLY THE SAME.
An intervention might be necessary.

Dear Val,
I’m writing this letter because I love you and care about you. Your choices lately have not only affected yourself, but have affected your whole family. We both have issues with long, luxurious eyelashes. We both have stories of strangers asking whether they genetically belong to us. I’m here to support you, and let you know that if I can get by with only one to two (sometimes waterproof is and is not called for) tubes of mascara - SO CAN YOU!
You can get help today. Will you accept help today?
Love,
Robin
I’m so jealous of your lashes. Mine are nonexistent and I haven’t been able to find a good mascara that doesn’t smudge but still washes off with regular soap and water. Any ideas?
I have very long eyelashes as well. They’re always hitting my glasses so if I put mascara on and then glasses or sunglasses, the mascara leaves streaks on the lenses. Life is hard.
I use Lancome definicils mascara. It is excellent. I have only 1 tube, however.
I have to say that my favorite is the one in the silver tube in the middle - it’s Boots Botanicals, available at Target. It’s a tad more expensive than typical drugstore brands, but there are seriously no clumps at all. I’ve never had issues taking it off.
One tip for mascara removal, I use a touch of Cold Cream (Pond’s is a great, inexpensive brand). Just a dab and swipe with a cotton pad (cotton balls will just leave fluff on your face).
Ohhh.. Am jealous of your eyelashes. (I almost typed eyeballs for some reason, though I’m sure they’re lovely too.)
Mine are so pale, it’s ridiculous!
