As I’m in my second trimester, I’m finally letting myself think about what “stuff” we need for this kid here. We’ve already gotten a couple items from the grandmas, as seen here:

Please note the teeny tiny onesies in the front. SO SMALL.
Anyway, I’ve allowed myself to browse a bit, particularly on Etsy. Chances are, we won’t be able to afford any of what I like, but it’s nice to see people moving past the whole pastel and cartoon character motif.
Just some of the sweet, Etsy goodness that you are all more than welcome to send us…
Spaceship onesie - Seriously. So cute.
Monkey hat - This kids coming in the fall. Headgear is essential.
Aqua and chocolate nursing blanket - It’s weird for me to think about nursing “accessories” but this one makes it less scary.
Mini Zadyball - I don’t know what a Zadyball either but it looks cute and it doesn’t require batteries.

The rubber band isn’t going to work much longer. It does ok while I’m standing up but while sitting, I almost have to unzip my pants completely.
We got feedback from someone who looked at our house that said the client wouldn’t go into the room with the barking dog. I wonder if they understand that the dog does not convey. Whatever, my dog is awesome.
Whenever I watch Jon & Kate plus 8, I constantly think “Someone must be screaming or in need of going to the bathroom at all times.”
Ross and I will be taking a long weekend at the beginning of June to go to Ft. Lewis Lodge with his parents. My excitement is indescribable.
Even though the baby can’t really hear yet, I’m trying to get in the habit of spending time each night with headphones on my belly, pumping in some quality music goodness. The short list of approved artists includes Johnny Cash, the Beatles, and Ottis Redding.
I love when Ross fixes BLTs for two reasons. One, they are delicious. Two, the cleanup takes about three seconds.
I watch Snapped a bit too regularly.
There is Cinnamon Toast Crunch in my kitchen. I’m finding it very difficult to keep from eating the entire box right now.
Now you go.
The food:

(You’ll notice bo-bo Cinnamon Toast Crunch in there. I had to, the baby wants it.)
The menu:
Monday: Tortellini and spinach
Tuesday: We kind of grazed on snacks
Wednesday: BLTs and avocado and tomato salad
Thursday: Szechuan broccoli, tofu, and rice
Friday: Turkey burgers and carrot fries
The total: $43
Deal Of The Week:

(That’s Ross being Italian in celebration.)
A giant bag of tortellini for $6 at Costco. We’ll eat it a million times and it’s an incredibly easy meal.
Budget Buster:

Fancy schmancy butter for almost $4. Because Ross is a pretty princess when it comes to things like butter and cheese.
I’ll be 15 weeks tomorrow. Picture after the jump.
Too much is going on right now, all of which is out of my control.
I just might crack soon. And there will definitely be some more crying.
Breakfast: Yogurt, apple
Snack: Unsalted almonds
Lunch: Yogurt, baby carrots, cheese, crackers
Snack: More almonds
Dinner: Tortellini with spinach and red sauce
Mama loves you, Flips.
I’d really appreciate it if you’d stop screeching for the entire night. And considering I will most likely be a blubbery, whiny mess from not sleeping at all last night, I’m sure Ross would thank you, too. And my co-workers. And the population of the Metro-Richmond area.
Friday: Work. Home for about 3 seconds. Off to a work-friend’s house for snacks and chats. Home to patiently waiting husband. Fell asleep at about 10:30.
Saturday: Up at 7:30 (see 10:30 bedtime). Puttering and playing with the dogs. To the gym. Home to shower. Took the dog for a walk while the house was shown. Snuggling and resting. Babysat two insanely cute ladies. Home at 1:30. Quick snack then bed.
Sunday: Up at 8. Loaves & Fishes. Much frantic cooking and serving. Narrowly escaped passing out while serving because, oh yeah, pregnant ladies are supposed to eat. Quickly ate a donut. Back to serve. Cleaned up and came home. Quick nap before church. Church. Picked up dinner. Doing some laundry and some cuddling. To bed soon.
Have a great week!

Here’s our girl waiting patiently to go outside. I like to pause and absorb these rare moments of stillness from her because it happens oh. so. rarely.
So it’s Saturday. I’m late. Aaaannnnd useless. But at least you can get my review of the food!
Here’s the food, buds.

The menu…
Monday: Hot dogs and salad (mmmm, hot dogs)
Tuesday: Grilled cheese and salad (made with “fancy” cheese, i.e. cheddar)
Wednesday: Tuna (less than 6 oz. for me! Relax!) and green beans with toasted sesame seeds (DO YOU KNOW HOW ANNOYING IT IS TO CLEAN UP SPILLED SESAME SEEDS FROM YOUR STOVE TOP? VERY.)
Thursday: Hot dogs again, because we’re quite fat really (mmmm, hot dogs. Still.)
Friday: Potato, egg, and spinach tortilla (I had like three bites and it was cold by then because I had been out, but it was pretty good.)
Grand total: Approx. $25
Deal Of The Week…

Here’s the free tuna referenced here. Our friend Brock caught a bunch of it and he so kindly passed it along to us for free. I must say, it was delicious.
And The Budget Buster…

Potato rolls of golden fairy dust apparently. But they are oh-so-good.
