After my alleged breakdown in the dressing room of Macy’s on Saturday, I managed to find something to wear to the much-anticipated nuptials of our dear friend Zach and Blair (those would be the nuptials that James and Jennifer ARE COMING HOME TOMORROW FOR.)

A little angel named Val (not me, another Val) read of my plight and sent me a lovely email letting me know of a certain dress recently purchased by her sister who is also in a delicate condition. I’ll be honest, I gasped with gratitude - and to think that she *apologized* for giving me unsolicited advice. Let it be remembered and known that I am Southern; the unsolicited advice is all I’m accustomed to getting (and giving).

So today I went over to Short Pump and picked up this little number:

Rather than making me look enormously fat, it makes me look pregnant. And, I’m just gonna say it, it makes certain assets look phenomenal. I say that because it’s a big moment for me - I haven’t felt that anything on me has looked phenomenal in many, many weeks.

So thanks, Val. You’re a peach.

*UPDATE*

I wore the dress to the wedding and I must say, I looked SLAMMIN. I have to wear it again this weekend and I cannot wait.

I’m a bit adverse to giving the baby a nickname for this blog at all (as in Bean, Peanut, etc.) but I also don’t want to have to say his/her, he/she, or it for the next 6 1/2 months.

Friday: Came home and was quickly surprised by someone coming to see the house. Went with Ross to hang out at a friend’s apartment with people from work for a bit. Came home and snuggled on the couch. To bed early.

Saturday: Couldn’t sleep any later than 7:45 and was very disappointed in myself. Puttered around the house. Went to Short Pump to try and find something to wear to a wedding next weekend that wouldn’t make me look enormous. Got increasingly frustrated with my transitioning shape. Might have cried in the dressing room of Macy’s, but I’m not admitting anything. Hoping for a dramatic belly pop this week so I can at least fit into maternity clothes. Not counting on it. Turkey burgers for dinner. Off to housewarming party. Good times and chats with friends. Home and to bed late.

Sunday: Managed to sleep in somewhat. Puttering and what not. Lunch at Galaxy Diner. Ate large amounts of fried food and loved every second of it. Church. Stopped at the grocery store to stock up on Key Lime Yoplait yogurt. Noticed my belly button is already being slightly altered by this growing child. Moderately freaked out. Hopefully to bed soon after saying many prayers that someone buys this house soon.

The house is on the market. I even found it on the Internet (I’m not linking to it because that would say to the crazies, “Yes, please come and break into my house so you can wait in the dark for me.”). There’s a sign out front and everything.

Now someone just needs to buy it because this baby isn’t waiting on anyone.

PS - I took down the last post in which I was kind of completely fuming because I don’t want to think about that anymore. Onwards and upwards, friends.

I almost didn’t do the eats for the week this week because the thought of sitting up to type it all out after sitting up and typing all day long reduced me to tears. Literally. But that’s another post entirely.

Here’s the food, kiddos.

I know, it doesn’t look like much, but it will be more than enough to feed the 2 and some change of us this week…

Monday: I had cornflakes and Ross had leftover pasta because for some reason we couldn’t muster the energy to do anything at all

Tuesday: Chicken quesadillas (despite my current poultry aversion)

Wednesday: Asparagus pasta

Thursday: Previously scheduled dinner out

Friday: Turkey burger sliders

The grand total: around $32, and that’s with the fancy schmancy spices that Ross picked up from Penzey’s this afternoon.

And your Deal Of The Week!

Ground turkey! $2.50 for 1.3 pounds at Kroger. But with hormones this time. I guess we’ll live.

No Budget Buster this week, kiddos. Not because I’m lazy, but because there just wasn’t anything that left us huffing and puffing about. And I’m probably kind of lazy.

Here’s the offspring! The technician labeled it as BABY just in case we weren’t sure what it was.

Measuring right on schedule and the heart pumping away at 170 beats per minute. It even did a nice little flip for us while we took a peek.

Please note the huge head which is undoubtedly housing its massive genius brain.

P.S. Little hand. NOM NOM NOM.

Friday: So exhausted and sick most of the day. Home to collapse on the bed and ask Ross to bring me a piece of bread with jelly on it. Loved him immensely for doing so. Off to the Southside for dinner with the siblings. Back to the city for a quick hang out. Home to bed.

Saturday: Up for the last weekend of home improvement. Cleaned a million things. Vacuumed. Lovely lunch outside at Can-Can. More cleaning. 3-hour nap to recuperate from cleaning. Dinner at Taco Bell. Almost died from the shock of Ross suggesting such a dinner. More resting. Off to another quick hang out before coming home to bed.

Sunday: Last day of home improvement! Final touches, cleaning, etc. Church. Back to the Southside for another dinner with the siblings - this time with my dad and stepmom as well. Home now for more frantic cleaning so the pictures of the house can be taken tomorrow. Hoping that the rain will stop. Various putterings before collapsing into bed.

Ultrasound tomorrow at 4:00! Think good thoughts!
